Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account information: your email address when you create an account, and (if you sign in with Google) the basic profile Google shares.
• Content you submit: the text and prompts you put into the tools, so we can generate a result for you.
• Usage data: counts of how many generations you run each day, to enforce plan limits.
• On-device data: if you use the tools as a guest, your work is saved in your own browser (local storage), not on our servers.
• Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

How we use it

To provide and run the tools, sync your saved work across your devices, enforce fair usage limits, process payments, and keep the service secure and working.

AI providers

To generate results, the text you submit is sent to third-party AI providers (which may include Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and DeepSeek) purely to produce your output. Each provider processes it under their own terms. We only send what's needed to run the tool you chose.

What we don't do

We do not sell your content or your personal information. We do not use the content you submit to train AI models without your explicit, opt-in consent.

Storage and security

Account data is stored with our database provider (Supabase) and protected by row-level security, so your rows are readable only by you. We use reasonable measures to protect your data, though no online service can promise perfect security.

Cookies

We use only the essential cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and record which link brought you to Domicad. We don't use advertising trackers.

Referrals

If you arrive through a campus ambassador's link, or enter their referral code, we store that code in your browser and, if you create an account, record on your account that they referred you. If you later subscribe, we record the commission owed to them.

Ambassadors see how many people signed up through their link, how many subscribed, and what they have earned. They never see who you are: no name, no email, and nothing about what you write or make on Domicad.

If you would rather not be linked to a referrer, email us and we will remove it.

Browser extension

The Domicad browser extension does two different things, and they handle your text in two different ways. The difference matters, so it is worth stating plainly.

Proofreading as you type runs entirely in your browser. The spelling and grammar rules are built into the extension itself. When it underlines something as you write, nothing has been sent anywhere — not to us, not to anyone else. The extension makes no network request at all for that check. It only reads long text boxes and rich-text editors; it never reads single-line fields, so passwords, card numbers and one-time codes are outside what it can see.

The actions you choose do send that text to us.When you select text and ask the extension to rewrite, summarize, check or correct it, that selection is sent to Domicad and on to the AI provider that performs it, exactly as it would be if you pasted it into the website. It is processed to answer that request and is not used to train anyone's model. Nothing is sent unless you ask for it.

The extension asks for access to a website only when you turn proofreading on for that site, one site at a time. It does not request access to every site you visit, and when you turn a site off it gives that access back.

If you are signed in, the extension stores your Domicad session token in the browser so your work counts against your own account. You can clear it by signing out. It never sees or stores your password.

Your choices

You can access, correct, or delete your account data at any time. Email us at hello@domicad.app and we'll help. Deleting your account removes your saved work from our systems.

Children

Domicadis for students aged 13 and older. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy. We'll change the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
